MUST SEE PC! The Best Original, Web-Only Series
The 2014 incarnation of "Web TV" is teeming with original series that rival broadcast and cable televison-- shows backed by some of the net's major players (Crackle, Hulu, NetFlix, Yahoo & Youtube) plus some familiar faces from Hollywood and cross-over, actors-turned producers ( Seinfeld & Jack Black).
Navigating this neck of cyberscape, however, isn't as easy as one would think. Where sites like Crackle promote their original series
on a simple landing page, some of the best "internet TV" is buried amongst general listings with hundreds of other non-categorized (or mis-categorized) content (and, more often than not, collections of mediocre shorts, college film experiments and other scarce watchable fodder). Youtube itself is the biggest cluster !@#$ of them all! After investing $100 million in its "Original Channels Initiative" the company suddenly pulled all references to the project from its site, and even the home page for viewers to find these shows (a screen shot of the old landing page if it helps any). Still, some of the most popular webisodes are streamed on sites that haven't quite reached mainstream TV vernacular; i.e. Koldcast, My Damn Channel and Rocket Jump.
WWTV hopes to promote awareness of these networks and any number of quality shows advanced by each. Following, our retrospective on some of the most popular webisodes that have emerged in recent years. For some, it will also be a first glimpse at the rising stars, writers and directors pioneering the modern cyber screen.

Daddy Knows Best My Damn Channel
(Comedy) 2 Seasons | 18 Webisodes
DKB follows the Larry David-ish antics of Steve, a chronic liar and less than model hubby and father. In his defense though, what dad hasn't had to find a bathroom for his kid and mistaken a strip joint for a "house of worship"? Arguably the funniest web series going! Stars Steve Rannazzisi ( MTV’s Punk’d) and Jade Catta-Preta. New episodes air Tuesdays on My Damn Channel.
RCVR Machinima
(Sci-Fi Thriller) 1 Season- 2011 | 6 webisodes
SIGMA agents (played by Daniel Bonjour and Catherine Kresge) are sent to investigate the 1973 extraterrestrial encounter of a boy in rural Arkansas. A distortion campaign ensues exposing the government's covert motives for
tracking down alien contactees. The greater mystery, however, is why more installments of this series weren't produced.
Video Game High School Rocket Jump
(Action) 2 Seasons | 15 webisodes
After unwittingly beating a world-ranked first person shooter, gaming prodigy Brian D. finds himself enrolled in the prestigious VGHS (picture Hogwartz for aspiring gaming stars). The show has all the campy feel and characters of an 80's John Hughe's flick, and Top Gun nicknames to boot for most its cast ("Games Dean", "The Law", "Jenny Matrix" and the "Obliverator"). A well produced, adult-tolerable series with plenty of action and cool FX for all.
(Comedy) Now in Season 2 | 7 webisodes
Produced by and starring Teal Sherer, disabled actress and advocate for the inclusion of performers with disabilities in the entertainment industry. As she navigates from one audition to the next via wheelchair, Teal combats bemusing ignorance with poise and humor. This is no "woe be me" mockumentary of disabled Americans. Teal and cast deliver solidly written dramedy that's as humorous as it is thought-provoking.
(music) 3 Season | 26 webisodes
With all that Sony money to spend, Crackle has produced an incredible slate of action films and original series. But the real gem on the site-- a series that features intimate, live performances from some of the most revered musicians in the world. Performers include: Beck, Radiohead, the Shins, Chilli Peppers, Iggy and the Stooges, Aimee Mann and more... Some of the coolest jam sessions you'll ever witness!
